Accessibility Notice
Access to the houseboat is via an uneven wooden pathway. Entry requires stepping over a gap between the shore and the vessel above the water, which may be unsuitable for guests with limited mobility. Please contact us before booking if you have any accessibility concerns.
The Property
Set within a peaceful and relatively private waterside location, Ant River Lodge offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the Norfolk Broads. Surrounded by stunning scenery and abundant wildlife — more than any other UK national park — this is the perfect escape for nature lovers, anglers and those seeking a relaxing waterside retreat.
This newly refurbished River Lodge houseboat sleeps up to 4 guests and is dog friendly (dogs must remain on leads when outside the boat).
The main living space features a surprisingly spacious lounge and dining area with TV, dining table and a fully equipped kitchen.

Both bedrooms enjoy views across the water.
A Juliet balcony offers the perfect place to sit and watch life on the river.
Please note: Natural water movement may occasionally cause gentle rocking sounds against the bank.
Fishing & River Activities
Great fishing location — seasonal restrictions apply:
No fishing permitted between 15 March – 16 June
A valid fishing licence is required for anglers aged 12+ (maximum two rods per person)
The River Ant is unique within the Broads as it feeds directly into Barton Broad, creating diverse fish habitats. Species include bream, roach, rudd, perch and pike. Summer fishing is best early morning or late evening due to boat traffic.
Rowing boats are available for hire at £50 per stay, including safety equipment (not available November – March).
Please note: refunds are not provided in cases of poor weather.
